Jewelry Sampling
Check the piece before you place the production order
A sample gives you something a drawing cannot: the weight in your hand, the way a clasp moves and the color under different light. HonHo develops samples in stainless steel, brass and 925 sterling silver, with your feedback recorded before production.
A sample schedule you can plan around
Start with a drawing, reference piece or clear brief. We review the construction, material and finish before confirming the development work and sample charge.
Allow about 25–30 days for brass or sterling silver samples and 25–35 days for stainless steel. Complex construction, components or revisions can change that timing. We confirm a schedule for your project; shipping time is separate.
Choose the material and components
Compare the metal, stones, pearls and findings together. The choices affect the weight, setting, finish and cost of the piece. We can help narrow the options before the CAD is finalized.
How sampling works
A clear brief makes a better starting point
01 / Set the specification
Material Selection
Premium metals, stones, and finishes for your project needs
Quality Standards
Surface treatment, finishing options, and material grades
Specifications
Exact measurements, tolerances, and material properties
Technical Details
Surface requirements, coating specifications, and special treatments
Order Volume
Strategic planning to optimize cost and production efficiency
Send reference images or sketches with dimensions. Mark the details you want to keep and the ones you want to change.
02 / Review the construction
We check the proposed material, dimensions and assembly method. Any testing or supporting documents you need should be agreed at this stage, along with the quotation.
03 / Make and inspect the sample
Once the specification is approved, we make the sample and check it before dispatch. The schedule depends on the metal, components and finishing work.
04 / Record changes and approve
Review fit, weight, dimensions, finish and function. Send a consolidated list of changes; we confirm the work, cost and timing of any further round before proceeding.
Use the sample as a working reference
Keep the approved piece with the final drawing and specification. Those references help prevent small details from being lost between development, production and inspection.
Questions about sampling
Can I request changes?
Yes. Tell us what needs to change and why. We review the effect on tooling, components, cost and schedule before making the next version.
What does a sample cost?
The charge depends on the design, material, tooling and finish. We provide the breakdown before work starts and confirm whether any amount can be credited against a later order.
When can I expect the sample?
Plan for about 25–30 days for brass or 925 sterling silver and 25–35 days for stainless steel. Revisions and shipping add time. Your quotation will confirm the schedule for the specific design.
What should I send first?
Send a sketch or reference sample, dimensions, preferred metal and finish, quantity per style and color, and your delivery destination. Mention any fixed launch date or product-testing requirement.
