Jewelry Quality Control
Quality checks need a clear reference. We agree the material, dimensions, finish and acceptance criteria with you, then inspect production against the approved sample and written specification.
Agree what will be checked
A visual check, a plating-thickness measurement and a nickel-release test answer different questions. We help you define the inspection and testing needed for the design and destination market.
Factory documents
Request current management and audit documents separately from product test reports. Confirm which facility and activity each document covers.
In-house checks
We can discuss XRF coating measurements, corrosion testing and the inspection tools relevant to your specification.
Agreed test methods
State the method, conditions and acceptance criteria before testing. A result is meaningful only in that context.
Checks against the sample
Compare dimensions, appearance, settings and closures with the approved sample and final specification.
Ask for documents that match the question
Factory management certificates, social audits and product test reports serve different purposes. Ask for current documents and check their scope, dates and the products or facility they cover. Specialist laboratory testing should be agreed for your order.
- Material and nickel-release testing
- Sourcing documentation where required
- Independent laboratory reports by agreement
Confirm the material before production
We work with stainless steel, brass and 925 sterling silver. Agree the grade or alloy, relevant components and coating layers in the order specification; a product photograph cannot confirm those details.

Check construction and appearance
We inspect the details that affect the finished piece: dimensions, smooth edges, assembly, stone security and surface finish. Findings are reviewed against the approved reference, with issues addressed before packing.
Use tests for a defined purpose
Coating measurements and corrosion tests help assess specific properties under stated conditions. They do not prove a universal wear life. We agree the test method, duration and acceptance criteria before drawing a conclusion from the result.

Checks suited to the design
The inspection plan should reflect the piece. A hinge needs a movement check; a stone setting needs a security check; a plated surface needs a finish reference. Additional material or chemical tests are arranged to the agreed requirements.

Keep a record of approval
Record the approved sample, drawing revision and any agreed tolerances. These make it easier to assess production consistently and to investigate a concern after delivery.
Check the coating specification
Our stated stainless steel gold-color specification uses a 0.5 μm TiN layer with a 0.03–0.10 μm gold top layer. Brass and silver use electroplating to the agreed specification. Keep each layer separate in the order and measurement report.
